Detailed station information
The McMurdo neutron monitor (MCMU) is in the process of moving to Jang Bogo (JBGO). In late 2014 one MCMU 6-tube section was shipped to JBGO and installed there in late 2015. One tube was damaged and as of April 2018, only five tubes are operating. In January 2017 the remaining two MCMU sections were shipped to JBGO and we expect the complete station will be online in late 2018. In the meantime, we will normalize JBGO to the full 18-tube MCMU, for historical continuity since 1960.
